Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT)

The Cochrane & Area Humane Society is looking for a passionate Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our small, fun and dedicated team!

The Position
We are currently hiring for a full-time RVT position, working 40 hours per week.
• Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

What you’ll be doing
As part of our veterinary team, you’ll help provide compassionate, high-quality care to the animals in our shelter. Your days will include:
• Providing hands-on medical care and monitoring the health and well-being of shelter animals.
• Assisting with and participating in spay/neuter surgeries, dentals and other veterinary procedures.
• Preparing for surgery, monitoring anesthesia and providing post-operative care.
• Assessing animals, assisting with diagnostics and treatments, and monitoring recovery.
• Administering medications, vaccinations and preventative treatments.
• Working closely with our Veterinary, Animal Care and Behavior teams to support the physical and behavioral well-being of our animals.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and helping ensure our veterinary protocols and standards are followed.
• Sharing your knowledge and supporting staff, volunteers, fosters and adopters with animal health and wellness information.
